Castel Sant’Elmo

It was built in the XIV century by will of Roberto d’Angiò: the castle is made by tuff and inside tuff and it presents a star plant. Castel Capuano
Less known but not less important is Castel Capuano. Founded in the XII century by the Normans, its name originates from the proximity to one of the door of the ancient city of Naples which opened on the street which leaded to Capua. It has been an impregnable fortress for years and, after a lot of changes, in the 1537 is was converted in a Courthouse, until few years ago.
